Leave Adelaide & head north on the road to
Gawler where if you are so inclined you can spend time exploring the
Barossa Valley, however if the outback is what you are looking for, keep
driving through Nuriootpa to Blanchetown, Waikerie to Barmera. A
great bush camp can be had in the Loch Luna Game reserve which can
be accessed from the northern end of Lake Bonney (turn off opposite
Lake Bonney Hotel ruins), on the outskirts of Barmera.
Alternative camping in this area can be had in Katarapko Park which
is accessed from Berri Rodeo Ground. There are many good campsites
on the Murray River here.
